Master the art of creative expression and academic excellence through our English Program. Set to complement Singapore’s primary school English national exams, our program includes advanced grammar practice that strengthens and deepens the understanding of sentence structures, rules and grammar skills. They also learn how to develop reasoning, inferential skills and analytical skills to effectively answer longer and complex comprehension passages. To enhance and boost vocabulary skills, students will explore purposeful activities to handle cloze passages and multiple-choice questions. This program will also include activities that boosts fluency and presentation in Oral communication. With content that is relevant, contemporary and educational, students are given curated materials to prepare them for national exams at a level, pitched 20% above the national average.
Master the art of story writing through a structured writing program. Set to prepare students for the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE), the English syllabus, will include Situational writing and advanced storytelling structures. Students learn how to develop complex plots and craft memorable and relatable characters by incorporating enhanced descriptive techniques such as enhanced sensorial descriptions, the use of metaphors, similes and other literary devices, as well as exploring different types of Hooks for opening and effective conclusions. Students will also learn how to edit, refine their drafts and present their final output. All students will also receive personalised support and guidance to enhance the quality of their work through detailed marking and feedback.
To lay a firm foundation, students have access to comprehensive materials and hands-on practice. and multiple ways to assess their understanding after completing each topic. Set to complement Singapore’s primary school English syllabus, this program runs Composition and Comprehension activities on alternate weeks. Every student is encouraged to showcase their understanding through written and verbal tasks and effort is made to inculcate 21st century skills and values. For academic subjects, there are exam-oriented worksheets that incorporate level-based questions, and these include challenging and non-routine questions so that students have ample practice and are well prepared for the regular and year end exams.
